No matter how much randomness collects in a makeup bag, anyone who has one can tell you exactly why each product has made it’s way in there and exactly what it’s purpose is. For me, the collective theme of my makeup bag is being prepared to fix up/add to/tweak whatever version of face I have on that day. To see what I use to accomplish that, continue reading!
This stuff comes with me EVERYWHERE. Due to my sensitive acne-prone skin, I’m always very sketched out about trying new products on my face. After reading such amazing reviews from oily, acne-prone customers about Kat Von D foundations, I gave them a try & totally fell in love. This powder definitely provides some coverage on it’s own, but I use it on top of Kat Von D Lock-It Liquid Foundation to touch up my face throughout the day. The little disposable sponges that come in powder compacts ALSO sketch me out (you will find me being sketched out is a common theme with a lot of cosmetic & skincare related things), so I apply & touch up with:
Ecotools Mattifying Finish Brush–
I’m big on synthetic brushes. I’m not sure why exactly, other than personally liking the texture more. I feel I get a very even distribution of product with this soft, fluffy brush. And the price tag aint bad either.
Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick–
I’m obsessed with these things. They are absolutely perfect in texture and tint as something to just throw on real quick and be on your way. If I had to describe them, it would be as a creamy tinted chapstick. Non drying, moisturizing, and just lovely! These 2 go with me everywhere as well.
I love these for the same reason as the Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipsticks, glide on super easy for a quick application, non drying, and in perfect every day wearable shades. Some are more on the sheer side, but I tend to gravitate to that trait in a lippie. Although they aren’t drying, they aren’t moisturizing. So, I still throw on my trusty carmex under these babies.
For the most part, I’m really just looking for a comfy tinted product for my lips to cuddle up with. However, some days I want to be jazzy, but have zero patience for my eyeshadow & winged liner. On these days I’m found reaching for a bolder lip, but I need something transferproof to make my boyfriend happy, but also something that will not make my lips crumble off my face by the end of the day to make ME happy.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick–
These are so great! There are so many gorgeous shades that I hope to own & love some day. Gorgeous colors with full coverage, dry matte, and do not dry the life out of my lips. These do not wear ALL day long and do require reapplying after something like a few drinks or a meal, but really do otherwise last for quite a bit of time. So…I’m not mad about it.
Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick–
If you’ve never tried these liquid lipsticks, I’d hate to be the one to tell you this, but you are absolutely missing out on life. The wear on these bad boys is RIDICULOUS. They go on so creamy and smooth then dry down matte and wear FOREVER. I use my eye makeup remover to get them fully off at the end of the day. They come in a large variety of colors, but most sell out the same day they are launched! If you’re new to the Jeffree game and do not already stalk his existence on all social media sites the way I do, he always announces new products and restocks on pre-existing products on Snapchat and Instagram (in case this inspires you to do a little stalking and you fall in love with something currently sold out).
MAC Studio Chromagraphic Pencil Crayon–
I keep this on me because it’s light nudeish tint makes it very multi-use. It can be used to highlight under the brow, on the inner corners, cover a little blemish, etc. My main usage of this pencil is to line my waterline on days I feel I need a subtle eye opening pick-me-up effect without being 6th grade Kim using my white wet-n-wild eyeliner.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil–
I’ve been hung up on this liner for probably a decade now. I’m sure theres been plenty other amazing liners to come out since this, but I can’t ever bring myself to part ways. I use this to “tightline” to thicken my lash line, and give my liner an over all sleeker appearance. This pencil has such a soft creamy texture that can be smudged/blended out if needed when first applied, then sets and will not budge!
A long day can call for a little clean up here & there, so I always keep Q-tips on me as well as eyedrops for the highly dreaded allergy season and/or when something inevitably ends up in my eye at some point during the day.
Well, I hope you’ve all found something here intriguing enough to maybe invest in and pop into your own makeup bags! Thanks for taking a peek into mine with me!
